TW: mild reference to self harm
Colouring in is typically perceived as a childs activity but it increasingly is becoming popular with grown-ups.
On Amazon, 8 of the top 10 craft books are colouring in books for grown-ups, showing just how many adults are engaging in it now.
I was on a trip this week in Oxford/Stevenage/Cambridge with university. This was extremely exhausting and led to me getting really strong SH urges again... I am rather ashamed to say that I gave into them... :/
Anyway, back to topic. On the way back, our plane was delayed by 2 and a half hours. The airport was extremely busy, I was knackered and just wanted to go home but home was looking further and further away. Although I had dealt very well with anxiety the whole trip, I was starting to feel very agitated. I decided that I had better do something about it before it got too bad. I went to the WHS in the departure lounge and bought myself a colouring book and felt tips and set about colouring. This almost instantly calmed me down!
I have been having a really rough weekend and have found having this colouring book really helpful. It is amazing just how much your mind can be settled by a distracting activity.
