This post was written by the amazing Natalie, who I have been in contact with on Twitter for a while now:
I am a 26 year old adult with a big possibility of having autism. I am doing this to hopefully raise awareness and give you a glimpse of what its like.
People judge me, they look and stare at me as if I am crazy but they don't realise that I see things a lot different to others. Most days I am in my own world. I call it my escape route and safe place where no one can hurt me or judge me.
I am also quite sensitive to unknown sounds, ie tractors, alarms, and often cover my ears because it upsets me so much. I also find it hard being in big groups. I prefer smaller groups. I find it had to understand peoples body language, to read peoples facial expressions. This is what its like every day.
This is a message I want to send out. I am not crazy. Don't judge people its not cool. I just want to raise awareness around autism.
