I know from personal experience with mental health that relaxing isn't always easy to actually do, and sometimes it isn't even in an option. I know the struggles about relaxing, you personally wish to relax, let the troubles of the day & the worries just drift away into a sea in the air but your mind has different ideas! Your mind wants to go other things that happen several years ago that you no longer wish to remember!!
It's time we tell our minds to "do one" when we want to relax and for a little bit of ME time - which to me is a very important thing, me time is always a must - even if its once a month, once a week, make time for you to do the things you want to do - weather it be a PJ day (Which I do love) or you want to visit a place for the weekend etc.
Below is a few relaxing methods - they are not everyone's cup of tea but I personally have found them to work in the past;
Meditation - there are several types of meditation out that there, I explored a few types before I found one that I thoroughly enjoyed & they even sell soundtracks to listen to while your doing it!!
Tai Chi - This is a process of conscious. It is a controlled focus of our minds - this will occur when the thinking process in our minds has been stopped - weather it be in pictures or words.
Tai Chi is known to be a very big mediation and it helps you to clear your mind and just relax.
The feeling once I have finished a session of tai chi is amazing! I couldn't recommend it enough to others - you feel like you've woken up from a perfect blissful sleep - the refreshed feeing. You don't remember what that feels like?? Don't worry I don't either unless I do a session of tai chi mediation.
I found also walking - going out during the day on my own for a slow blissful walk, finding a bench to sit down at where all you can hear is the birds singing and a very very distant sound of the hustle and bustle of todays society.
It's only when I have found a peaceful place to sit and just listen that I realise what I am actually missing outside because we are all too busy rushing around in our day to day lives.
If you don't want to go outside I found doing little projects for myself are also a nice relaxer, I like to do items such as scrap books, diaries and my memory box.
I hope this in someway helps you to consider ways you find to relax.
